What are stories?

In the menu, Learn → Stories has short A1 and A2 stories: registering with the council, the GP, looking for work, school, renting a home, shopping, neighbours, transport, traditions and more. Each story teaches you something useful for the exam (especially KNM). You only need to be signed in to read them.

Listening and following

Listen to the story reads the lines one after another; the word being read is marked and the page follows the line. If you stop, the button becomes Continue listening.
Episodes are like a podcast: above each line you see who says it; lines without a name are the narrator's.
Choose the reading speed with the speed buttons on the same row; your choice applies everywhere on the site.
The speaker icon next to a sentence reads only that sentence again.

Translations

The translation icon next to a sentence shows or hides its translation. Show all translations opens the translation of every sentence. You can change the translation language (Turkish, English, Arabic, Spanish) in the list on the right.

Words

Tap a word to see its meaning in your language. Words with a dotted underline are in the dictionary; words you save with Add to my words go to My words and the word games. Names of people and places (like Amira or Utrecht) are plain text and have no card.

Questions, progress and XP

At the end of the story there is a short lesson and a list of exam terms, followed by 3–5 questions. Get at least 60% right and the story is completed; the first time you earn 10 XP. You see why each answer is right or wrong, and you can try again as often as you like. The story list shows which stories you have read and completed, and your best score.
