In word games

Word meanings are shown in your interface language: Turkish, English, Arabic or Spanish. If you use the site in Dutch, the meanings are shown in English.

All meanings and options in one game are always in the same language. If there are not yet enough translated words in your language for a game, it opens with English meanings, or Turkish if those are missing too; a small note on the game screen tells you so.

The meanings in languages other than Turkish were translated with AI and are being checked step by step by native speakers. If you spot a wrong meaning, let us know.

In challenges

You and your opponent play the same Dutch words, with the same options in the same order. The meaning language only decides which language the meanings are shown in; your interface language does not change. The language that counts is the interface language saved in each account.

If you use the same language, there is nothing to choose.
If your languages differ, you see your opponent's language when you challenge them and choose: everyone in their own language (the default) or a shared language (one of your two languages).
When your opponent opens the invitation, they see which language it will be played in and can accept, propose a language change or decline.
A change only counts when both of you agree. There is one proposal: if the challenger declines it, the original language stays.
In a live challenge the proposal and the answer appear right away on the waiting screen; the game time only starts after you agree.
In a Play later challenge the proposal is sent as a notification. If nobody answers, the challenge ends after 72 hours, like any unanswered invitation.

The language is locked when the game starts: even if you change your interface language during or after the game, the game and its result stay the same. A small label on the result and history screens shows the language it was played in ("Shared language: Turkish" or "Each in their own language").

In a challenge through a shared link, whoever takes the link plays in their own language; if some words of the set have no translation in that language, they play in the challenger's language.
