Registering

In the registration form you enter your first name, last name, email address, gender and a password; you also need to accept the terms of use. After registering, you receive a verification link at your email address. Until you verify your email, you cannot use the members-only sections; if the link didn't arrive, you can send it again from the verification page.

When you register, a username is created automatically from your first and last name. Your profile address is this username.

Automatic check of your details

When you register, and when you change your first name, surname or e-mail address, these details are checked automatically, with the help of AI. The aim is to filter out offensive or fake details and temporary (disposable) e-mail addresses. Real names of every language and origin are of course normal.

If something is not accepted, only that field is marked; everything else you entered stays in the form.
If you think this is a mistake, write to us with the Contact us button on the registration page. No account is needed: your details are filled in, you only add a short note.
If we check your details and they are fine, we send a complete your registration link to your e-mail address. The link is valid for 7 days; your details are filled in and you only choose a password.

Signing in

To sign in, you use your email address and password. If you select "Remember me", you stay signed in longer on this device; don't select it on a shared computer.

Signing in with Google

When the login and sign-up pages show Continue with Google, you can get in without typing a password:

First time here? Your name and e-mail come from Google; pick your gender, accept the terms and the account is ready. Google already verified the address, so there is no verification e-mail to wait for.
Already a member with the same e-mail address? Your Google account is linked to your existing account; no second account is created. With a different address, sign in with your password and link it under Settings → Linked accounts.
An account opened with Google has no password. To sign in with e-mail and password too, set one under Settings → Security. When deleting the account you type your e-mail address instead of a password.
You can unlink under Settings → Linked accounts; if it is your only way in, set a password first.

Forgot your password?

The "Forgot your password?" link on the sign-in page sends a reset link to your email address. The link is valid for 60 minutes. If it expires, request a new link.

Email, password and username

Email address: Settings → Account details. You need to verify your new address again.
Password: Settings → Security.
Username: Settings → Public profile. You can change your username once every 30 days; your old name is reserved for you for 90 days, and your old profile link redirects to your new address.

Deleting your account

With "Delete account" at the bottom of the Settings → Account details page, you permanently delete your account by entering your password. This cannot be undone: your exam results, voice recordings, games, follows and notifications are also deleted. Comments you wrote on word games remain visible under your shortened name ("Ayşe Y.").
